Biography: |
| | Roxsane was born and raised in the Greater Vancouver area. She attended UBC and became an elementary school teacher. She married, lived on Harrison Lake, in Sardis, Surrey and in Squamish raising three girls all actively engaged in the community. At present she lives in Burnaby.
Roxsane studied Applied Art at Capilano College placing on the Dean's List. She has studied and produced weaving, fabric design and soft sculpture before learning the techniques of Chigiri-e' in Japan. She attends workshops locally and abroad whenever possible as her curiosity is boundless.
A founding member of the Squamish Weaver's and Spinner's Guild she later returned to complete her B. Ed. at SFU, worked in Mexico as Program Director for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, became an international educator teaching high school and marketing for the school district in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Mexico. Wherever she travels she soaks up the local color, customs and cultural influences. These cross-cultural experiences blend with her lively imagination, her creativity and her love of the outdoors to provide an endless variety of subjects for her art work.

| | Roxsane is currently showing at Inlet Wellness Gallery on Clark Street in Port Moody and at Sooke Harbour House, in Sooke, BC as well as at Leighdon Gallery on West 3rd Avenue, in Vancouver from April 6th till April 30th. In May she will have a COLLAGE Exhibition at Alliance Francais on Cambie in Vancouver from the 3rd till the 21st. She will be part of the Burnaby Artists Guild’s 40th Anniversary Show and Sale April 9th, 10th and 11th at Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby. She has 2 pieces juried into the Northwest Collage Society Show on Mercer Island in Washington State and one juried into the FCA Gallery show Blossoms on Granville Island in Vancouver in April, 2010. |

| | Instruction in Chigiri-e’, watercolour,acrylics or collage is available on request for adults or students. lessons for groups of 4 cost $15 per hour per student- -most supplies provided. Private lessons are $30 per hour. |
